Matteo is the blacksmith the village of San Pasquale, with his own smithy.
In the game, Scarlett will first call on Mattheo on the morning after the assassins's attack on San Pasquale. Mattheo's daughter is about Scarlett's age, and can loan proper clothes.
As a blacksmith, Matteo was once an armorer and weapon-smith. He can help Scarlett repair or sharpen damaged or disused weapons, or help tailor armor (leather, plate, banded) to fit her.
Mattheo longs for a new, larger smithy in metropolitan Venice. (Late in the game, once Scarlett has reached Venice's Inner City, she can help him move there; then Scarlett can avail herself of his further services as armorer.)
